Box Office

Box Office is an iOS and Android app that helps Universe organizers seamlessly run their events onsite.

With the Box Office app, organizers can scan guest tickets, sell tickets at the door, manage their guest list, and assign team permissions.

In the last year, I've worked closely with the mobile team on improving the mobile app experience, from visual updates to enhancements to the app’s contrast and target areas. I've also had the opportunity to create a comprehensive team management system, and to rethink the experience of selling tickets at the door.

Defining the Problem


The Problem

70% of sellers spend on average 2-9 minutes processing one order at the door, which results in long wait times, added stress, dissatisfaction with the Universe brand, and potential loss of revenue.

Less than 10% of sellers use our existing card reader setup at the door.

The current at-the-door sales setup is outdated. It doesn’t scale to cover the needs of larger event organizers and a high volume of sales. It makes it impossible to iterate upon and add highly requested features.

Some sellers find it confusing and prefer running transactions outside of the app, which results in undocumented transactions and inaccurate reports.
